Registering and Signing In
In order to buy or sell items on Yahoo! Auctions, you must first register for a Yahoo! ID and Yahoo! Auctions. (If you simply want to browse through the items being sold on the Auctions, and do not wish to buy or sell, you do not need to register.)
- - If you already have a Yahoo! ID

On the upper left corner of the Yahoo! Auctions Top page (see right), enter your Yahoo! ID and password, and Sign In Yahoo! Auctions. If you are already Signed In, the Sign In box will not appear. Next, click on "My Auctions" or "Options" in the gray upper area of the page and jump to the Yahoo! Auctions Registration screen (see below). Enter the required information into the fields, and click on "I Agree" to finish registration. Click on the Yahoo! Auctions logo to return to the Yahoo! Auctions Top page. You are now ready to participate in an Auction!

You must complete your registration with Yahoo! Auctions, and must Sign In in order to participate in an Auction. If you have not yet registered with Yahoo! Auctions, please follow the steps above to register. To Sign In, enter your Yahoo! ID and password in the Sign In box located on the upper left corner of the Yahoo! Auctions Top page. If you are already Signed In, the Sign In box will not appear.
In an Auction, there are two types of users: users who are Sellers (who are selling an item) and users who are Bidders (Buyers). Next we will see how these two types of users participate in an Auction.
