Merchant Auctions Order Manager and Yahoo! Store allow you to process orders online through a unique direct link to First Data. Once you've set up a merchant account to process transactions through First Data you're ready to go.

If you don't already have a merchant account, you can apply for one online. If you already have a merchant account, you'll find information below about setting it up to process transactions through your Merchant Auctions Order Manager or Yahoo! Store.

Online Order Processing

There are two parts to a credit card transaction:

  • Authorization verifies that a card number is real and reserves part of the credit line for the transaction.
  • Capture actually transfers the funds.

    Here's how it works:

    1. You'll be able to process transactions online as soon as your sign-up process for a merchant account is completed and approved.

    2. Customer (or winning bidder) orders will be authorized in real time when the order is placed.

    3. When you retrieve orders in your browser, you'll see the authorization status at the bottom of the page.

    4. Once the valid authorization comes through, you can do a capture by clicking a single button. (This usually takes place at shipping time.)
Note: An authorization usually indicates that the credit card is valid, but it is not a guarantee. (For example, the card may be stolen but not yet reported.) For more information, see Avoiding Fraudulent Orders.

I already have a merchant account. Can I use it for online order processing?

Yes, you can use your current merchant account for online orders if your bank can set you up to process transactions through First Data. Ask your bank for a new MID/TID pair (for your Merchant Auctions Order Manager or Yahoo! Store), using First Data Merchant Services' Nashville platform (formerly known as Envoy). You may need to tell them that the Merchant Auctions Order Manager/Yahoo! Store is an FDMS-certified application with vendor code 0190 and product code 819000.

Once you have a MID/TID pair, email Yahoo! support at: merchant-auctions-support@yahoo-inc.com.

You'll need to provide the MID/TID pair as well your merchant number. We also need to know which credit cards your merchant account accepts. Your account should be set up within one business day.
