Managing Your Auctions
|
A successful auction will require work on your end to ensure that your auctions run smoothly and bidders are happy. Answering questions and providing any updates in a timely manner is very important.
Print out this handy Daily To-Do List to help manage your charity auctions:
- Check your mailbox daily!
Answering bidders questions in a timely manner is very, very, important. Bidders base their opinion of the legitimacy of the auction on whether their emails are answered or not. If you do not answer them, they will likely not bid.
- Actively market and promote the auctions
Check on your auctions daily to see if bids have been placed. If not, you might consider posting messages in listservs and message boards to promote your auctions.
- Answer Questions on the Q&A pages
Bidders can post questions for each auction on a Question & Answer page. You will be notified by email when this happens. Answer questions promptly to encourage bidding.
- Contact Winners Promptly!
Winners expect to be notified with payment and shipping information on the day the auction closes. Plan for this and have a staff member send out "winning confirmation" emails on the day the auction closes.
